LANTERNS Vietnamese
The flavors are predominantly Vietnamese but there are also some western and fusion dishes on offer. What makes this place stand out from the crowd is the attention to detail and the perfect cooking of each dish. The braised pork melts in your mouth while the fish hotpot dishes are expertly seasoned and full of flavor. This restaurant is always bustling in the evenings, so it is advised that you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

NGO RI (Coriander) Thai Restaurant Thai One of the world’s great cuisines, Thai is an ever popular choice by diners. Welcoming, spacious and beautifully appointed, Galangal is found on Biet Thu St. The cuisine is inspired by Vietnam’s street food and they are proud to use traditional cooking methods and aim to offer food not altered to suit Western palates. There are three dining options. A street food buffet created before your eyes and you can select as much as you desire. Or try a tasting menu, a six course seafood feast created to the diner’s desires from the signature menu. The last option is an old standard: a la carte. Great food in a superb setting!

With two main restaurants, Sushi Sakura serves authentic Japanese cuisine. On entry, the first thing one sees is the chilled cabinet at the bar, full of sashimi and sushi ready for preparation. Le Bouchon is an intimate establishment and one of the finest French restaurants in town. The menu has a Lyonnaise influence, with salads, entrees, mains using beef, New Zealand lamb, pork, duck and fish, desserts and cheeses all available from a small but excellent menu. Their signature dish, Tenderloin Steak with either cognac and pepper or blue cheese sauce is to die for! Check the blackboard for the daily specials. It is very popular with the local French community, and that is a sure sign of quality and reliability. BOOZE CRUISE International
Excellent pizza, burgers, fish and chips plus big full breakfasts. There are some nice seafood and Vietnamese dishes plus a great range of beers, ciders and cocktails. It is the only bar in town serving authentic snake wine. Try it if you are game!
